About me
I took my first black and white photography course when I was 18. At the time my mind was in a rough place and something about the quiet of the dark room and the magic of watching my celluloid come to life on the paper was transformative for me. I fell in love with photography and haven't stopped taking pictures for the last 2 decades. I now shoot film and digital and I've expanded my range of techniques greatly since those early days of tree canopies and tombstones, but the fundamentals I learned all those years ago still tag along on every photo journey I take.
About the Photography
I love abstract photography and many of the pictures in these series fall into this genre. Sometimes they're more impressionistic than abstract, but typically they're not specifically trying to capture detail so much as mood or tone. I'm working with a company called Whitewall in Germany that does really high quality fine art Giclee prints. In my testing they've looked great. They'll be sent to you unframed, but I think most of these abstract photos look best when framed. It makes them feel more "painterly" when designing your interior.
