How do you shoot the pictures?

I take lots of pictures and the vast, vast majority end up junked somewhere on a hard drive, but for the most part I choose my technique based on the goals I have for a particular series. A common theme for my process is experimentation. Many of my favorite pictures were done experimentally. I wasn't quite sure what would happen when I started. Walking around in the rain for 20 minutes exposing a single photo is an example. I often use long and multiple exposures to reflect a particular mood I have in mind, but I shoot any way I think fits the subject matter.

Where do the prints come from?

I use a print on demand company called Whitewall. They're based in Germany but they have centers all over the place. In my testing they do an exceptional job. Printing fine art photography can be tricky. When you spend so much time (and money) making the pictures, it's a shame to have the prints be anything less than perfect. BUT I love photography, not printing, so for me the best option has been to use a print on demand service that can match my attention to detail.

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

I will pass your order onto Whitewall within 24 hours from the moment you place it. The shipping time varies by location, but from past experience Whitewall is very prompt fulfilling orders. I've even had some of my tests (that were printed in Germany) arrive at my home in the US less than a week later.

What's the return policy?

The prints are done with a separate print on demand service. The process looks like this: You order from me, I transfer that money to Whitewall (minus my commission) and the system automatically sends them your shipping information and the picture/dimensions you ordered. Then they print and ship it to you. Although I'm the one managing your order, I'M NOT the one fulfilling your order, so it's impossible for me to do returns. HOWEVER, if your picture arrives damaged or there is some other problem, I can of course work with Whitewall to get you the print you ordered in good condition. Your happiness is my job so if something seems off, I'd be happy to look into it and see what can be done.

Can I cancel an order?

If you message me to cancel right away, before Whitewall has printed it out, there might be a chance for me to cancel on your behalf. They usually take an hour or two to process the order so sometimes it's possible to cancel immediately after purchase. Unfortunately if they've already printed it, then that's that. I can't offer cancelations in that case but if there are extenuating circumstances and you get in touch with me, I can try to figure out something to help ease the pain for future orders ;-)

What do I get when I order a print?

You get the print in the size you ordered. It will come on very high quality paper with equally high quality pigments or inks used to render the colors and details as perfectly as possible. You don't get a frame or backing... wah wah. I believe it's best for you to get that done on your own so you can match it with your space :-)
